| Every year on 11 February, (National Foundation Day), 15 August (Memorial Day for the End of the War in East Asia) and other occasions, right-wing associations gather in the vicinity of Yasukuni Shrine for political demonstrations. Politicians, including the Prime Ministers in the past, also pay visits to the Yasukuni Shrine on those days to "honor the war dead" of Japan's wars, particularly those of the 1930s and 1940s, who are in the center of worship in the Yasukuni Shrine. The worshipped "gods" of Yasukuni also include war criminals. |
